Do you have a cracked or chipped tooth? Or an obvious gap in your teeth? If so, you can effortlessly hide these defects with dental bonding. Dental bonding is a common tooth reconstruction solution where a natural-looking, tooth-colored resin is applied to the teeth. What are bondings?

Dental bonding is a tooth restoration treatment where a tooth-colored resin is used to cover small tooth imperfections like chips, gaps, and discoloration. Unlike dental crowns or veneers, dental bonding removes little if any tooth enamel. It’s also quicker and more cost-effective than other cosmetic dentistry treatments.

Reasons for dental bondings

Dr. Amin Samadian and his highly trained staff in San Francisco may recommend dental bonding to repair cracks, unevenness, and chips in the teeth. They may also suggest this treatment to reshape crooked teeth, whiten discolored teeth, close spaces between the front teeth, or defend the exposed roots of the teeth. If you have more prominent dental concerns, he can talk with you about alternative oral treatments. He and his team of specialists in San Francisco will use advanced diagnostic techniques to create the best treatment plan for you.

What do dental bondings involve?

During a dental bonding treatment, Dr. Amin Samadian’s team will begin by fully cleaning the tooth. Then, he’ll rub it with a mild solution that will assist with bonding the composite resin to the tooth. Next, he’ll administer the composite resin in multiple layers and harden each layer with a specific dental curing light. Once there are enough layers on the teeth, they will craft the bond to the ideal shape and texture so it appears as natural as possible. This treatment usually takes 30-60 minutes per tooth to complete.

What results will I see?

After dental bonding treatment, you can experience a more beautiful smile. While your bonding may require touch-ups or replacements every few years, you’ll find it to be an affordable, easy way to upgrade the aesthetics of your teeth.
